Sam's Club launches Indian dry grocery

Sam's Club, the club format retailer has launched Indian food in their selected clubs. While the range is currently limited, the plan is to grow this category considering the growing demand for Indian groceries all over the country.

Bentonville Arkansas based KuMart LLC is the supplier of Indian groceries to Sam's Club. The multimillion-dollar corporation, KuMart LLC is involved in the import & distribution of Leather goods, Textiles, Clothing, Electronics, Electricals, and outdoor gear.

While we have been in the business of other categories for a long time but nothing excites us more than the Indian food business. It's like sharing your culture and a part of your tradition with others, Says Nishant Kumar President & CEO of KuMart LLC.

Although Indian food makes up less than two percent of the ethnic food market in the United States, it has had the fastest-growing rate over the last decade. The grown comes not only due to demand from the Indian diaspora but also from all other communities based in the US.
Walk into any Indian restaurant in New York City and you will quickly notice the majority of customers are not Indian. Similarly trend shows a high number of Americans buying Indian groceries at retail stores.
Indian food is relatively new in the US when you compare it with other ethnic food like Italian & Chinese. Italians have been coming to the US since the 1880s
whereas the surge of Indian immigrants started about 3 decades ago.

KuMart LLC's foray into Indian grocery with mass retailers opens another avenue for retail and distribution of Indian grocery which is mostly limited to small grocery stores. Future plans include offering a wider assortment to fulfill customer expectations and drive excitement
